Another bloodbath to come

YEARS of bruising battles with local insurgents seemed to have paid off. After seeming to have neutralised elements of wanton violence, British troops packed up to leave, announcing that their job was done.
There’s just one problem: this wasn’t Basra in southern Iraq last week, but Musa Qala in southern Afghanistan last year. Since then, Taliban militants have returned in force and taken over.
The phased pullout from Iraq that Britain announced last Wednesday was not, as was earlier believed, to bring the troops home. It was simply a redeployment, switching postings from Iraq to Afghanistan.

Moreover, Taliban have threatened to make this year the bloodiest yet, and British troops are moving into position to make it just that. I wonder when will the time come to hear that our World is peaceful....Everyday when I flip through or read the newspaper, news on war must be included.....

People who make decisions to start a war are those who don't have to do the fighting - that's why it's easy for them as it is not they who're going to die in the battlefield or to lose a limb.
